    Campus Safety

    • On-campus Security Awareness and Crime Prevention Programs: Campus Safety works closely with Chicago Police Department to develop and promote good working relationships. The Chicago Police Department precinct office is located 1.4 miles from the Wabash Building, reachable within approximately 4-5 minutes.

Roosevelt University provides all students with the resources and services needed to have the best university experience possible, both in and out of the classroom.

Academic resources

Trading Floor Classroom

On the 12th floor of the Wabash Building, the College of Business has a new high-tech home. A financial trading room gives business degree students practical, real-time experiences in finance, investing, banking and related markets. It simulates the trading floor of a stock exchange. An electronic stock market ticker wraps around the hallway and into the trading classroom.

Science Laboratories

Cutting-edge science facilities have been installed in Wabash Building. There are 10 labs in the new Science Center including: labs for biology, chemistry and physics; a tissue-culture lab, a microscopy lab, and a student-only research lab. Additionally, there are video-equipped conference rooms; a walk-in cold room for bacterial specimens and other temperature-sensitive samples; and a laser table room for specialized chemistry experiments.


Roosevelt University's main library (the Murray-Green Library) is in the Auditorium Building. It provides a wide range of printed and electronic resources, a dedicated staff of professional librarians, and comprehensive research and instruction services to enrich your learning experience:

Roosevelt University provides a range of technology-enhanced teaching and learning spaces for use by faculty and students. There are open computer labs for walk-in use by students, in addition to teaching computer labs. 925 PCs are available for student use.

RUWiFi is the new Roosevelt wireless network, giving 100% coverage in all campus buildings. There is no cost to Roosevelt students for internet access.

Academic Success Center

The Academic Success Center offers academic support services for Roosevelt students. These include tutoring, strategic learning, course-specific study groups, study skill workshops, peer mentoring and services for students with disabilities.

Recreation and Wellness

Fitness Center

Roosevelt University's new state-of-the-art recreation center, the Barry Crown Fitness Center, is free of charge to students. It features:

  • aerobic and strength-training machines
  • circuit machines
  • free weights, stability balls and jump ropes 
  • fitness studio for group exercise classes

It is open Monday-Friday 6a.m.-10p.m., and weekends 9a.m.-9p.m..

Roosevelt Lakers basketball teamAthletics Center

The Lillian and Larry Goodman Center is an athletics facility that is home to the basketball and volleyball teams. Roosevelt University's athletics teams are called The Lakers and compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA): men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis, men's golf and baseball, and men's and women's softball.

A variety of athletic competitions and events, intramural sport and recreation events are held in the new facility, opened in 2012.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is staffed with 5 clinicians and 3 student liaisons to offer all Roosevelt University students support services that include:

  • wellness programs – culture shock, managing stress, test anxiety, relaxation, alcohol and drug prevention and diversity awareness

    Dining Venues - What Will You Eat?

    Roosevelt University is dedicated to bringing students great food, in a sustainable way. Locally grown, organic, cage-free, and fresh ingredients are served every day.

    The dining center - floor 2 Wabash Building

    Seating 300 people, the Wabash Cafeteria has a variety of food stations: grab and go, pizza, pasta, salads, burgers, soup, hot meals, international dishes, deli, grill station, and desserts for lunch and dinner.

    There is also a coffee shop, and a market with a wide selection of beverages and snack items.

    RU Metropolis - Auditorium Building lobby

    A coffee shop serving Roosevelt's own blend of fair trade and organic beans. It also sells baked goods from Blue Sky Bakery, a local bakery with a social justice mission.

    Students living in university residences must buy a meal plan.
